The health of our digestive tract is vital to our wellbeing. Most people experience some digestive discomfort from overeating, stress, insufficient breakdown of food, or poor food choices. Learn to use Forrest Yoga poses to clear your gut of indigestible, nonnutritive junk and reconnect to what your body is trying to tell you. Twisting poses will compress soft organs, encouraging waste to leave the system, and invite fresh oxygen and nutrients into the cell tissue. “Over the Roll” poses will increase peristalsis and movement in the digestive system. You will bring awareness and vitality to your belly to improve digestion and reconnect to gut feelings in a nourishing way.
All levels welcome, modifications will be provided for more difficult poses.
Here is a little about Jessie:
Jessie Dwiggins’ passion for yoga is evident in her classes. Her class structure emphasizes healthy alignment and exploration of breath. As the poses evolve and become more challenging, you will explore and push your physical, mental, and emotional boundaries. Jessie will motivate you, talk you through your head games, and guide you into advanced poses safely. She will create a space for you to look inward and love yourself. Each class is fresh and unexpected, but students can expect a strong, renewing, and stretchy practice.
It was her personal transformation that led Jessie to discover her enthusiasm for teaching yoga and mindful-eating. Jessie started practicing yoga purely for exercise and soon discovered it was so much more. Yoga helped to calm her anxiety, heal from eating disorder, allowed her to reconnect with herself, and taught her to recognize what her body is capable of and appreciate her ever-evolving appearance. Jessie’s experience was so powerful and transformative she began teaching yoga to share her personal insights.
Jessie has been teaching Forrest Yoga and Power Yoga since 2007 and practicing since 2003. She graduated from both the Foundational and Advanced Teacher Training programs with Ana Forrest and is a registered yoga teacher at the 200-hour level. Jessie holds undergraduate degrees in nutrition and exercise physiology and a graduate degree in nutrition. She is also a licensed Am I Hungry? Mindful Eating facilitator and certified Wellness Coach.
