The idea of perfection is so seductive. It whispers that once we arrive at having the perfect body, then we will be worthy of love and acceptance, belonging, our dreams. If “energy flows where attention goes”, then how much of your energy have you poured into the idea that there is something wrong with your body? Arms, butt, thighs, belly, whatever - if only you could make this part of you stronger/thinner/bigger/flatter/curvier/etc., then wouldn’t life be so much better/easier/happier? These areas of your body hold onto this idea, feeding the belief that you are not enough. The “not enough” belief pattern permeates into all aspects of our lives, where we unconsciously make decisions based on this fear. But what would life be like if we unplugged from this pattern? How can we free ourselves from the prison of perfection?
This uncomfortable yet revolutionary work can start on your yoga mat. Learn to use Forrest Yoga to initiate the process of unraveling this belief and heal your relationship with your body. During this workshop, we will courageously stalk our darkest fears about our bodies, and begin to dissolve negative feelings about ourselves. Intelligent sequencing of pranayama, abdominal poses, deep twists and inversions will challenge and exhilarate as we flush out the ways in which we hate on our bodies.
This powerful practice will reconnect you to what matters most, reveal the thought patterns that keep you small, and give you tools to help you continue to choose to love yourself, despite the ease with which you lean the opposite.
All levels are welcome. Modifications will be provided for injuries, any specific needs and pregnancy.
